CCSD Students Compete at State Economics Challenge

A Cherokee County School District team advanced to the state finals of a national high school economics competition!
Four River Ridge High School students, Udi Gitau, Leony Kartasurya, Krish Patel and Chendan Wang, recently competed in the Econ Challenge State Finals. Their teacher sponsor is Terry Strassner.
More than 400 teams statewide entered the annual economics quiz bowl competition sponsored in Georgia by the Georgia Council on Economic Education. During competitions, students answer challenging questions that test their critical thinking skills and knowledge of microeconomics, macroeconomics, international trade and current events.
Georgia’s top 10 teams, split into two divisions, were selected through preliminary virtual competitions. These 10 top teams, including River Ridge, recently competed at the state finals at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
