Our honorees, recognized for their exceptional commitment and impact, are: Lacy Caplan, Woodstock MS; Katherine Deal, Teasley MS; Rachel Deese, Woodstock ES; Cathy Hazzard, Holly Springs ES STEM Academy; Celetia Jackson, Johnston Preschool; Megan Jackson, Woodstock HS; Jessica Jones, Sixes ES; Felicia Kyle, Tippens EC; Melanie Mack, Macedonia ES; Maryn Perlson, Avery ES; Caroline Rubio, River Ridge HS; and Renee Shirah, Creekland MS. Our amazing teachers are dedicated to our students learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else!
The Gamma Eta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, a professional organization of active and retired women educators, has presented the annual awards for the past 28 years. Each year, the chapter invites faculty from a rotating group of CCSD schools to select honorees.
The organization also demonstrates its commitment to fostering and empowering aspiring female educators by presenting a $1,500 college scholarship for a future educator. Congratulations to Cherokee HS Class of 2026 graduate Kori Dutko, who is headed to the University of Georgia this fall to pursue a degree in music education!
